Explore the evolving and contested term “Latinx” to examine how language shapes and misshapes gender-inclusive terms, identity, belonging, and representation. Grounded in decolonial feminist and queer theories and Anzaldúa’s autohistoria-teoría, this session addresses linguistic coloniality, misgendering, and erasure—centering scholars and educators who affirm Latinx/Chicanx/Afro-Latinx, trans, and nonbinary voices in art education.
