Conversations That Matter: Developing Minds and Hearts with Junior Great Books

The Great Books Foundation utilizes the Shared Inquiry method to foster critical thinking skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies in grades K–12. Our work is built on the practice of civil discourse. It is used to create authentic learning opportunities through dialogue and active listening, thereby promoting the SEL skills necessary to foster a strong learning environment. In this session, we will model Shared Inquiry and provide attendees with strategies they can implement in their classrooms to engage all students and support the development and practice of SEL skills.
