Teaching ELA to Adult Learners in a Correctional Institution

North Carolina operates four prison high schools. The students are convicted felons interested in getting high school diplomas. Prison instruction offers unique challenges to a career educator, and this talk will outline some of those challenges and how one ELA teacher has addressed the needs of incarcerated learners.
