The Paper Car Contest: Breaking Eggs in Middle School and High School Science
Buckle in as long time NCTCA speakers Reuben and Brad guide you through the Paper Car Contest, an activity that gets your students building their own paper car that has to survive a harrowing crash with a concrete block while protecting it's driver, the humble egg. Best of all, you will get to build your own paper car and compete for a thrilling prize! This new spin on the classic Egg Drop activity is innovative, easy to pull of with minimal materials and set-up and connects masterfully to STS outcomes of lab design and transportation safety. Perfect for Science 7 (Structures and Forces), Science 8 (Mechanical Systems) and Science 24 (Transportation Safety). Instructions and sample calculations for use in Science 24 will also be provided.
