Don’t Stop Believin’ in Your Teaching: AI, Policy, and Practice
How is AI impacting your students and teaching? Do you feel more like you’re in “The Terminator” or more like you’ve just made friends with “KITT”, a smart sidekick supercharging your teaching? Enough 80s metaphors! It’s time to get “Back to the Future” and discuss AI in a meaningful and practical way. Join us! In this interactive session, we will explore AI literacy and policy leveraging an internationally recognized framework for AI literacy. Get a glimpse at the wide variety of trusted open educational resources that you can immediately apply to your practice at any grade level and subject area. Our session will include dynamic activities like polling, opportunities for reflection and discussion, and a hands-on activity to review AI lesson plans and classroom guidance. As we’re considering how AI literacy applies to different classrooms and students, we’ll also discuss the interconnected nature of AI literacy and classroom policies. Policies can serve to support learners in developing the knowledge and attitudes that are essential for navigating an increasingly AI-infused society. Together, we’ll look at and discuss what it means to be responsible and confident teachers who empower “The Next Generation” to navigate the complexities of emerging technologies.
