Ensuring Inclusive Learning: Accessibility Practices in K to 12 Classrooms
This session equips Educators with practical strategies to make digital learning accessible for every student, and adds clear ways to use AI to accelerate that work. Participants will learn foundational practices such as alternative text for images, captions and transcripts for media, clear structure and headings, effective color and contrast, and language access for multilingual learners. They will also use AI to draft and verify captions and transcripts, generate alternative text and audio descriptions, translate materials and create plain language summaries, adapt reading level, and produce multiple formats such as text, audio, and visuals. Using an Accessibility Playlist, Educators will complete a short pre assessment, select a Growth Track, apply one practice to a real resource, and draft an action plan. Human review guards against bias and factual errors so accessibility advances equity for all learners.
