PLC with Purpose: Structuring Collaborative Time That Works
This session explores how to structure professional learning communities that move beyond checklists and compliance into spaces of genuine collaboration. Drawing from real examples, participants will learn how to design PLCs that integrate schoolwide themes, provide teacher choice, and include built-in reflection and feedback. The session will highlight practical strategies like independent choice boards, feedback surveys, use of AI, and thematic planning that can be adapted to any school context. Participants will leave with a framework for creating differentiated PLCs while still aligning with district and school goals. (At our middle school PLCs are content specific, so that will be the model showcased.)
