Shopping for Success: Guiding Students to Their Right Career Fit

There are a lot of career pathways for our students, and making a decision can be overwhelming. Exposing our students to a store full of tools, equipment and experiences gives them the ability to shop around and explore potential career paths. Whether they are preparing for college, or jumping right into the trades, FIRST students are provided opportunities to shop around and try on a variety of hats to discover their right fit. In this workshop we will begin by exploring the FIRST Engineering Explorations Curriculum and the FIRST Training LMS to see how these flexible resources provide you the variety of hats that can fit right in with the classes you are teaching. In the second half, you will be hands-on in the FIRST Mobile Machine Shop. See first-hand what tools and equipment our FIRST students are trying on for size and preparing them with skills to utilize right out of high school.
