The Power of Text Sets

This session explores how knowledge-building text sets can significantly improve student comprehension, grounded in the latest Science of Reading research. Participants will learn to create purposeful, standards-aligned text sets that integrate seamlessly with science and social studies curricula. Through a combination of research-based strategies, exploration of both free and district-provided resources, and collaborative planning, teachers will gain practical tools to design engaging, knowledge-rich learning experiences. The session also includes guidance on leveraging AI to enhance text set development and provides an overview of the Pitt County Schools implementation plan.
