Grades That Reflect Growth: A Gentle Shift Toward Standards-Based Assessment in Math
Part of PDTCA 2026
Thursday 19 February 2026·8:00 pm
Grades often come from averaging scores across quizzes, tests, and assignments, even when those scores no longer reflect what students currently understand. This session focuses on one practical shift: grading learning outcomes rather than assessment types. We’ll examine how tracking evidence by outcome and prioritizing recency of learning can lead to grades that better reflect student current understanding. Teachers and administrators welcome.
