Impact of Poverty - Experiential Learning and Simulation

The Impact of Poverty Experiential Learning is geared towards educators and support staff and included a poverty simulation game where we divide participants into families and they are tasked with navigating the social services system based on the cards they are dealt. This presentation dives into the the notion of privilege, implicit bias, diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, community development and outcomes based practices. This particular session will dive into how this experiential learning has been utilized with fourth year education students at the Medicine Hat College, and most recently with junior high and high school students in classroom settings.
