In “Purposeful Play: Selecting and Creating Materials with Skill-Building in Mind”, attendees will learn about how to select and create materials for students to promote the development of specific foundational skills. We will discuss the outcomes and benefits of practical skill development through play, how to analyze play to determine a needed skill set, and bridging developing skills with appropriate materials and activities. Participants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with one another to design a skill-based activity and ask clarifying questions about the process of creating such materials.
