Amplifying Youth Voice in Curriculum Development: Health Ed for Gen Alpha and Beyond
Gen Alpha -- the first fully digital-native generation -- is growing up in a rapidly evolving health landscape. To prepare them for healthy futures, health education must address emerging challenges and be shaped with young people, not just for them. This interactive session explores practical strategies for amplifying youth voice in curriculum development, ensuring content is relevant, inclusive, and future-focused. Participants will learn how to engage students as co-creators through youth advisory boards, participatory design tools, and technology-enabled feedback, while maintaining alignment with evidence-based frameworks like the NHES and WSCC model. Real-world case studies will illustrate how youth input can transform curriculum outcomes and engagement. Attendees will leave with a Youth Voice Integration Toolkit, actionable templates, and a plan for embedding student perspectives into their own curriculum work -- building the skills, agency, and advocacy that Gen Alpha and beyond will need to navigate the health challenges of tomorrow.
