Unified Physical Education isn’t just a support for students with disabilities; it’s a high-impact experience that strengthens learning, relationships, and belonging for everyone in the gym. When students with and without disabilities participate together through intentional teaming, shared goals, and meaningful roles, the benefits ripple far beyond physical skills: confidence grows, leadership emerges, and peer connections become more authentic. This session reframes Unified PE as a win-win model that elevates outcomes for all students. You’ll explore how students with and without disabilities increase skill development, motivation, communication, real-world collaboration, empathy, social belonging, and real-world collaboration skills that transfer to classrooms, teams, and communities. We’ll also highlight how Unified PE can shift school culture by reducing stigma, increasing acceptance, and creating a more connected, respectful school climate.

This award ceremony celebrates the achievements and work of adapted physical education/physical activity professionals and will follow the lecture.
