Mapping the Landscape of Sport Analytics Programs in the U.S.

Sport Analytics (SA) is rapidly emerging as a natural extension of measurement and evaluation within kinesiology and is becoming one of the fastest growing areas in higher education and the sport industry. By blending foundational principles such as measurement, statistics and evaluation with modern tools in big data analytics and artificial intelligence, SA represents a dynamic interdisciplinary field. This session provides an up-to-date national overview of SA programs across undergraduate, graduate and certificate levels. It highlights common curriculum themes, evolving program structures, and the ways universities are aligning their academic offerings with workforce demands. Special attention will be given to how SA programs are preparing students with applied data skills that are relevant to sport (performance and business) and health domains. Participants will gain insight into current trends and key implications for curriculum development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and graduate training in measurement-related disciplines.
