Teaching to Type: Using Myers-Briggs to Personalize Skills-Based Health Education

Tuesday 17 March 2026·11:45 am

How do personality types influence how students engage with skills-based health education? In this interactive session, we’ll explore how the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) can deepen our understanding of student learning styles and enhance how we teach the SHAPE America National Health Education Standards. Participants will examine how personality preferences -- like introversion vs. extroversion or sensing vs. intuition -- can shape how students process information, practice decision-making, build self-management skills, and communicate effectively. Walk away with practical strategies to tailor instruction to diverse learners, foster student voice and autonomy, and create more inclusive, engaging, and effective health education experiences.
