"The Coaches' Dilemma: What Will You Do to Win?" Podcast: Adapting Curriculum in the Age of Technology

Podcasts have exploded in popularity and are used as passive forms of information. We do not know if the information being shared is changing perceptions and behavior. And while podcasts may be offered as assignments, instructors are not consistently using podcasts as curriculum tools. The podcast, “The Coaches’ Dilemma: What Will You do to Win?” was developed to assess whether a podcast can be an effective tool to improve decision making and affect perceptions about objective outcomes in sport.

In sports, the objective outcome (the numbers) takes precedence because without it, sports appear not to exist. Thus, the lived experience of the athletes, their journey, is often disregarded, which means we miss the beauty of human experience and the meaningful relationships that develop. The podcast, "The Coaches' Dilemma: What Will You do to Win?" is a philosophical podcast curriculum in which important elements of the lived experience are discussed.
