12 Profound Teaching Practices I Learned from Colleagues and Friends
K-9 teachers who participate in this session will hear powerful stories, engage in meaningful dialogue and leave with a useful collection of practical teaching strategies that can be used in classrooms the very next day. Come join us to connect with peers, reflect on your own practices, and hear about master teachers whose pedagogy aligns with the most sound educational research today. Our session will include movement activities, case studies, current dilemmas, activities, games, and laughter that you will receive energy from. Note for organizers: For 13 years, one of my primary responsibilities was to support the learning and growth of 60 new teachers in a large rural division. Our new and developing teachers sometimes felt overwhelmed with so many pedagogical choices available to them. It is possible that the multitude of resources, research, artificial intelligence responses, and website tabs open on their browser paralyzes teachers on what to do next. This session is designed to help by focusing on what the 20% of strategies that yield 80% of the results in the classroom. It is a collaborative, conversation-based session where participants connect, ask questions, and dig in to what really matters in pedagogy. Through stories, lessons learned, case studies, research insights, and interactive discussion, participants will gain teaching strategies they can apply immediately.
