Beyond Words: Supporting English Language Learners with Refugee Backgrounds

Students with refugee backgrounds bring incredible resilience, diverse experiences, and unique challenges into our classrooms. This session explores how educators can create inclusive spaces that go beyond language instruction to truly support the whole learner. Participants will gain practical English as an Additional Language (EAL) instructional strategies tailored for learners with interrupted or limited formal education, along with approaches to help students adapt to new school environments and communities.
