The PD Exchange

Emotional Regulation and Art Therapy

Friday 20 February 2026·5:30 pm

Discover how creativity can become a powerful tool for emotional regulation in the classroom. In this hands-on session, Art Therapist and Counsellor Jennifer Seniuk will guide participants through simple, effective art-based strategies designed to help students settle their nervous systems and re-engage with learning. Drawing from her experience in schools, community programs, and clinical settings, Jennifer will demonstrate activities that are accessible for any educator. No art skills required! Attendees will actively participate in creative exercises, gaining practical tools they can immediately use to support students in moments of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm. By the end of the session, participants will understand the link between art-making and emotional regulation, and leave with ready-to-use techniques to foster calm, connection, and resilience in their classrooms. 122 Participants
