Let’s Make a Visual Journal: Learn Bookbinding Techniques and How to Promote Metacognition Through Visual Journaling (ATA Fine Arts Council)
Students learn more effectively when they use metacognitive strategies to reflect on their thinking. By expressing their understanding through words, pictures, and symbols, they can better process complex concepts and retain information for long-term use. This full-day, hands-on session will guide participants in creating a variety of journals from scratch, while focusing primarily on how to incorporate metacognitive journal writing into any classroom setting. Educators will leave with practical strategies and skills they can immediately apply—regardless of subject area—to help students think more deeply, reflect more often, and learn more meaningfully. This session will be presented by the ATA Fine Arts Council. 30 Participants
