Pickleball in Schools: Learn to Play, Learn to Teach
Presented by Pickleball Alberta NCCP Certified Coaches Pickleball Alberta invites teachers of all grade levels to an interactive and energizing session designed to introduce the fundamentals of pickleball—Canada’s fastest-growing sport—and provide the tools and confidence needed to teach it effectively in schools. Led by NCCP-certified pickleball coaches, this session is tailored specifically for educators. It includes: Hands-on instruction on basic skills, rules, and safe play Drills and progressions adaptable for all age groups and skill levels Classroom-ready lesson plans and assessment tools Tips for inclusive play, modified equipment use, and space adaptation Insights into why pickleball is perfect for school PE programs—low cost, accessible, fun, and inclusive Whether you're brand new to the sport or looking to enhance your current program, this session will prepare you to confidently deliver pickleball in your physical education curriculum. You’ll leave with practical strategies, resources, and a passion to share the game with your students.
