This full-day workshop blends technology-based and traditional strategies to offer language teachers a wide variety of activities for expanding their teaching toolkit across all macro-skill areas. Led by Ian, a highly engaging French teacher and presenter, the session draws on extensive experience teaching languages in diverse school settings to share strategies that can easily be integrated into lessons regardless of the target language. While examples are drawn mainly from French and EAL (English as an Additional Language), all activities can be readily adapted to other languages, making this session valuable for teachers of any language. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop to access the full range of digital activities demonstrated during the workshop. Ian's approach combines modern technologies with established, time-tested strategies to create vibrant learning environments that keep students engaged. Presented by Critical Agendas, a leading Australian provider of teacher professional development, this workshop reflects their commitment to practical, classroom-ready sessions. Ian brings a Master's in Education specialising in curriculum development, experience coordinating languages at school and university level, and a passion for extending students' learning beyond the classroom through immersion camps, VCE seminars, and international exchanges.
