The University of Waikato invites prospective students and their families to experience its Hamilton campus firsthand through guided campus tours, offered every Friday at 1:00pm. Starting from the Student Centre Te Manawa, these tours provide an engaging introduction to one of New Zealand's leading universities, showcasing its facilities, learning spaces, and the vibrant campus environment. The tour covers key campus highlights and gives prospective students the opportunity to see where they would be studying, socialising, and living. For those interested in on-campus accommodation, tours of the Halls of Residence can also be arranged to follow the main campus tour. The University of Waikato's Hamilton campus offers three halls of residence—Bryant Hall, College Hall, and Student Village—all providing fully catered accommodation with three meals a day, seven days a week, plus options for late meals and packed lunches. While these are campus tours rather than professional development events, they represent an important part of the education ecosystem—connecting future educators and education professionals with the university environment where many will undertake their initial teacher education or postgraduate study. The University of Waikato has a strong reputation in education research and teacher preparation in New Zealand. Tours can be arranged at alternative times by contacting the Future Students team, though they are only available during business hours on weekdays.
