Parler en français: Strategies to Grow Oral Language in Early Immersion

Developing strong oral language is the foundation for success in French Immersion. In this session, I will share practical strategies, tools, and classroom routines to help students in Grades 1–3 progress from basic words and phrases to confident spoken French. You will see how I introduce speaking activities in a slow, structured progression and how I gradually increase expectations as students build confidence and independence. I will demonstrate real classroom examples, including interactive activities and techniques that encourage meaningful oral communication every day.
