Literacy Success Foundations: Supporting Students in Grades 4 and Up
Do you have students in your upper elementary or junior high classrooms struggling with foundational reading skills? It can be challenging to support these students when the teaching of foundational skills is not in the grade level curriculum. In addition, teachers of older students sometimes do not have the experience or background knowledge to feel confident teaching these skills. In this session, Karen will introduce the new Pearson resource—Literacy Success Foundations—designed to improve students’ word recognition and decoding skills through explicit phonics instruction aligned to a research-based scope and sequence. LSF includes targeted lessons with necessary background information for teachers, age-appropriate decodable text (written intentionally to connect to the phonics instruction), and a comprehensive teacher’s guide. Come see what LSF is all about!
