What?! That's A Course? Holocaust Studies 5 years in

In 2020 in collaboration with Foothills School Division and the Calgary Jewish Federation three locally developed courses were developed to engage students in a comprehensive exploration of the events of the Holocaust. Since its approval by Alberta Education I have had the privilege of teaching all three course each year. Starting with prewar Jewish life, moving through the development of the ghettos and implementation of the final solution, the courses conclude with an examination of modern antisemitism and Holocaust denial. This session will provide participants with an overview of the three courses, how I have been teaching it, and all the successes that have come with having this program at Highwood High School.
