Bridging research to practice, this presentation will address how critical thinking skills can be fostered leading to the interdisciplinary transfer of learning. By shifting our mindset, we can provide students with meaningful learning experiences and authentic assessment opportunities that result in development of higher-order thinking skills. Our session will address the research-based influences behind this mindset shift and curriculum and activity ideas to implement in your classroom. Participants will be immersed in classroom examples and gain practical tools to design engaging, thematic based units of study.
