Inspiring Creative Writing Through Mentor Texts

In this session, attendees will learn strategies to use mentor texts effectively to inspire creative writing in English Language Arts. They will hear examples of mentor texts, as well as how to incorporate them using various instructional strategies. Professional development books will be shared to support this work in the classroom. In addition to this information, attendees will have the opportunity to practice using these strategies during the session and experience the creative writing process for themselves. This will be an interactive workshop presentation, allowing attendees to hear from one another about effective writing practices that they have used in their classroom.
