The Same Old Story? Cross-Cultural Connections through Origin Stories, Myths, Legends, and More!

Whether passing on cultural traditions/beliefs, delivering warnings to keep children safe, or entertaining movie-watchers - origin myths, legends, folktales, and oral traditions are prevalent throughout history and around the world. Elements and stories from multiple cultures/countries will be discussed not only to further engage our students and build on their prior knowledge – but to highlight, celebrate, and build bridges that transcend borders and languages to link cultures. Attendees will get to 'test' their knowledge of literature and cultural connections as well.
