Indigenizing Curriculum: Teaching Animal Kinship

This presentation introduces the Animal Kinship Project (AKP), a multimedia educational resource designed to support the Indigenization of curriculum for Grades 4–6 and 7–12. Through a braided approach that integrates both Indigenous and Western knowledge systems, the AKP offers an accessible and engaging entry point for students to reflect on Indigenous ways of knowing. The presentation will feature a sample lesson on the buffalo.
