Speaking Neurodivergent: The Value of Neurodiverse Communication Styles
Part of PDTCA 2026
Thursday 19 February 2026·9:20 pm
Traditionally, neurodivergent communication has been labelled as a “deficit.” But what if it isn’t a communication deficit as much as it is a communication difference? This session will look at what recent research has discovered and explore some communication style differences that are often seen in the neurodivergent community. We will discuss how treating cross-neurotype communication differences like cross-cultural communication differences can help students of every neurotype flourish.
