Context, Content, and Conversations with Read Alouds
Part of 77th Annual SECA Conference
Saturday 24 January 2026·2:00 pm
How can literature serve as an invitation for all students to explore and have conversations about math? In this session, we will read a book, engage in math activities inspired by it, connect these experiences to a math trajectory, and use student artifacts to link students’ experiences to that same trajectory. Finally, we will examine other books and brainstorm ideas for future collaborations.
