Nature Play for the W.H.O.L.E. Child: Outdoor Learning Across Domains
Child-led time in nature provides countless benefits for the growth and well-being of young children- AND it can be used to document and achieve learning standards as well! This session will explore ways to engage children outdoors to meet areas of Wonder & curiosity, Health, Observation (science, measurement, STEM), Language & literacy, and Emotional development. For each domain, we will discuss research and learning standards, share resources, and explore affordable materials and meaningful strategies to engage with the outdoor world. Led by the director of the nature-based Pre-K at Huntsville Botanical Garden, this session will provide practical things you can use anywhere to connect children to the world around them and watch them grow!
