Legacy Builders: Teaching With Purpose in a Private Urban School

Wednesday 18 March 2026·4:30 pm

This interactive session explores the shared journey of two Black male physical educators teaching in a private, urban, predominantly Black school. Bridging generations and experiences, the presenters reflect on how physical education can shape school culture, foster belonging, and instill identity and leadership in students. With a balance of storytelling, culturally relevant pedagogy, and practical strategies, this session highlights how purposeful PE programming can support academic growth, character development, and community connection. Attendees will leave with tools to affirm cultural identity through movement, strengthen student engagement, and create transformative learning environments in any setting.
