Small Teaching - Big Learning
Part of 2026 SHAPE America National Convention & ExpoPresented by Heidorn, Mrs. Jennifer K., & Heidorn, Mrs. Jennifer K.
Saturday 21 March 2026·9:15 am
Drawing on literature and current research, this session equips faculty with evidence-based, practical strategies to create dynamic, student-centered learning environments. Participants will explore how small, intentional adjustments -- such as retrieval practice, prediction, and connection-making -- can transform classroom engagement without overhauling course design. Through live demonstrations, collaborative activities, and curated resources, faculty will learn to embed interaction and active participation seamlessly into lectures, discussions, and group work.
