Contextualizing Curriculum Design: Innovating the Curriculum for Self and Global Awareness

Saturday 7 February 2026·6:15 am

Curriculum plays a critical role in helping today's learners become both self and globally aware. This session will explore three essential questions about curriculum that develops "Future Ready" learners: 1. Why do we need a forward-looking curriculum model to shape teaching and learning? 2. What are the pillars of a curriculum that builds "future-ready " learners? 3. How do we shape curriculum so that learners are prepared to live and lead in an unpredictable, and complex world? As a result of attendance at this workshop participants will: Become familiar with a framework for teaching and learning that promotes the development of future ready skills.Explore new models and templates for curriculum design.Examine their own practice relative to these new models. NOTE: Participants should consider attending the follow-up workshop: "A Framework for Curriculum Review: Best Practices and Perspectives” which explores how teachers and leaders gather evidence of curriculum effectiveness and the school's progress toward its understanding of high-quality learning. Join on Saturday, Feb 7 at 2:00 p.m. or on Sunday, Feb 8 at 2:00 p.m.
