A teacher researcher’s autoethnographic authentic inquiry research plan to interrogate love in a virtual migrant education language class

By merging authentic inquiry research and autoethnography, I take up the opportunity as a teacher researcher to identify questions from my bilingual teaching experience working with adolescent migrants in New England. Drawing on the notion that “a culture of domination is anti-love” (hooks, 1994), I am interested in the connection between love and language, while including students as co-researchers in a community of inquiry, about how love is how I value students’ multilingualism. Attendees will leave this presentation with knowledge of theories of love that value linguistic diversity as well as knowing the procedure for designing an autoethnographic research project.
