The Cognitive Science of Retention: Helping Students Remember What They Learn

This presentation explores how principles from cognitive science, such as cognitive load, retrieval practice, spaced repetition can be applied to help students with reading challenges including dyslexia retain what they learn. Teachers will gain practical strategies to make learning “stick,” while administrators will discover how to align professional learning and instructional practices with brain-based methods that strengthen memory and skill retention.
