2L: Aligning Teachers with Curriculum: What Leaders Need to Know
As districts face important decisions around adopting High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), it’s essential that they understand what actually drives results. The real difference isn’t just choosing a curriculum; it’s the people, supports, and systems that make it effective for students. In this session, leaders will share lessons from five years of an evidence-based math instruction and curriculum rollout across 20 schools in the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools network and nearly 60 schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The work has included leadership development programs and site-based support systems that strengthen teacher practice and student achievement. Expect practical insights on what it takes to build instructional improvement that lasts. This work is messy because real change brings challenges, honest as lessons learned are shared openly, and hopeful as it shows what’s possible for students.
