Designing Culturally Responsive Assessments Practices using Avatars
Have you ever wondered how to make instructional content more engaging for your students? This interactive workshop helps educators design culturally responsive assessments by drawing on students’ cultural identities, lived experiences, and funds of knowledge. Participants will work hands-on with avatars representing English language learners to practice applying culturally responsive principles in assessment design. The session introduces practical strategies for using avatars as a planning tool and adapting instructional and assessment content to diverse learners. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to create a culturally responsive assessment plan they can use in their own classrooms.
