(TICKET REQUIRED) Slow Look
What happens when you slow down and spend time with a work of art? In this hands-on workshop, discover the Intuit Art Museum and the Catalyst: Im/migration and Self-Taught Art in Chicago exhibition highlighting artists whose journeys to and through Chicago continue to shape the city’s cultural landscape. Begin by looking closely at selected works and then move into artmaking with cut paper. While focusing on interpreting visual elements through shape and space, participants will work in timed rounds, sharing insights and taking creative risks in a process that prioritizes discovery over perfection. Designed for educators of all kinds, this workshop is for those interested in new ways of seeing, making, and connecting through art. No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to look, share, and create. Transportation is included for this off-site workshop experience. A Know Before You Go communication will be sent closer to the Convention with complete details, including pickup and return times, to help you plan accordingly. THIS IS A TICKETED SESSION. Please visit the FAQ page for detailed instructions on purchasing tickets to add to your NAEA26 registration or view this video tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI9KC8-Jzj8&feature=youtu.be).
