IR 2E: Learning to Improve Educator Workforce Together in the CT Innovation Cohort

Tuesday 31 March 2026·7:45 pm

Note: If you attend this session, your lunch will be before this session -- from 11:30-12:30 p.m. -- in the High Tech Elementary Gym ("Round 1 Lunch"). This session focuses on the development of continuous improvement mindsets and capabilities in a cohort of school districts that are committed to building a more diverse, effective, sustaining educator workforce that prepares all students for thriving lives of choice in our rapidly changing world. The Center for Public Research and Leadership (CPRL) is facilitating this cohort to help these districts make demonstrable progress towards these aims through the use of Evolutionary Learning, which includes seeing the system, using measurement, and engaging in disciplined inquiry. The team is grappling with how to help school districts solve challenges while balancing doing for and with as we try to bring about transformed systems with improved outcomes. SESSION FORMAT NOTE: Improvement Reviews are a powerful routine that supports team learning and organizational change. Presenters share an improvement effort in progress, reflect on data and learning, pose a dilemma, and receive expert feedback. Led by Summit facilitators in a fishbowl format, these sessions allow attendees to experience the routine, learn from the presenting team, and gain insights for their own improvement work. Improvement Reviews are a key way we “walk our talk” as a learning community that celebrates and pushes each other’s work. Facilitator: Barbara Shreve Reviewers: Curtis Taylor, Sarah Howard Improvement Review Protocol
