Two Languages, Three Disciplines: Collaborative Practices That Strengthen Student Learning

This session highlights collaborative practices among 7th-grade Science, ELA, and Spanish (SLA) teachers in a dual language setting. Presenters will share how aligning writing instruction and academic vocabulary across content areas strengthens student comprehension, language transfer, and biliteracy. Participants will explore examples of shared strategies, student work, and cross-curricular planning that demonstrate how learning from each other’s curricula enhances instructional practices and improves student learning in both languages.
